Hungarian Film Week to open with Bálint Kenyeres' The history of aviation

The new short of European Film Academy Award-winning director Bálint Kenyeres, 'The History of Aviation' is to open the 40th Hungarian Film Week on 29 January in Budapest. Starring Marie Mure, Andreas Leupold, Júlia Nyakó, Mari Nagy and László Babarczy the 1905 period piece is about an upper middle class family having an afternoon picnic on the Normandian shores.

Márta Mészáros to chair Hungarian Film Week's main jury

Jury members of the 40th Hungarian Film Week have been announced. Márta Mészáros presides over the feature film jury including Jenő Hartyándi, Elemér Ragályi, Ferenc Tolvaly and Oscar winner Vilmos Zsigmond.

40th Hungarian Film Week line-up announced

18 new feature films will compete for the Golden Reel Award at the 40th Hungarian Film Week running from January 27th till February 3rd in Budapest. The anniversary edition of Magyar cinematography's traditional event will be marked again by the young filmmakers since seven of the selected competitors are first time directors.Altogether 101 pictures will compete in 5 categories (feature, short, documentary, scientific, television) throughout the upcoming Hungarian Film Week, a unique opportunity to experience modern Magyar cinema directly alongside the filmmakers in Budapest. The 40th anniversary edition will be held from 27 January till 3 February at four locations in the Hungarian capital.
