The film is a vision: a composer is watching and listening to archive films about different forms of destruction, which inspire him to compose music. His composition, which is recorded with a symphonic orchestra, enjoys huge success, and then by a twist of fate, an army officer uses it as the musical background for an execution of a crowd - among whom is the composer and his family.
